It was a commanding performance by Krzysztof Holowczyc and Lukasz Kurzeja in the MINI JCW Rally Plus. The two Poles won every special stage and thus clearly decided the Baja Poland. This was also the first victory for the MINI JCW Rally Plus. Second place went to Michal Maluszinski and Julita Maluszinska, who also drive a MINI JCW Rally Plus.
The MINI JCW Rally Plus was unbeatable at the Baja Poland. Holowczyc set the fastest time on every special stage. His compatriot Maluskinski secured second place on almost every stage – only after the last lap did he have to settle for fourth. But that did not endanger his second place overall.
Krzysztof Holowczyc: “We won the Baja Poland. For the ninth time now. This rally is always difficult. Nevertheless, we managed to win all the stages! But the most important thing is that we were able to work a lot on the settings of the car here. We were able to change a few things to make the car more competitive. All this gives us a lot of knowledge and experience for the Dakar – that’s our main goal.”
The next round in the FIA World Cup for Cross-Country-Bajas is the Baja Portalegre from 26 – 28 October 2023.
This weekend, the X-raid will be active on two continents. The Desafío Ruta 40, the fourth round of the World Rally Raid Championship, starts today in the first special stage. At the start are Sebastian Halpern and Bernardo “Ronnie” Graue in the MINI JCW Rally Plus. Joao Ferreira and Manuel Porém pilot the X-raid 1000R Turbo Side-by-Side.
