As per tradition, the Spa Rally 2024 will take place over two days: Saturday, November 30th, and Sunday, December 1st. Participants can look forward to an action-packed opening day with eleven special stages scheduled between the start at 8:05 AM and the return to parc fermé twelve hours later.
On Saturday, four different stages are planned: Renouprez, Bruyères, and Fays Show will be run three times each, along with two runs on the Wanne stage. This totals an impressive 122.65 kilometers of timed action, culminating in a final loop that will be entirely run in the dark
The Renouprez stage stretches 11.93 kilometers and shares similarities with the old Charneux stage, although it runs in the opposite direction and avoids the village centres. This stage’s route through Aubel, Thimister, and Herve is typical of the region, and its numerous access roads allow spectators to fully enjoy the action.
Bruyères is 9.88 kilometers long and features a mix of speed and technical challenges. The stage winds along the famous Bois de Herve, around the centre of Bruyères, which remains accessible. Near the Herve viaduct, the stage runs close to the E40 motorway
As indicated by its name, the Fays Show is 10.96 kilometers long and begins with a show section that participants will complete twice. This stage, which runs in the opposite direction from previous editions, goes through Sassor and Saserotte. A jump just before the finish line is accessible to spectators via the Route du Congrès de Polleur, and the Flying Finish is also located there.
The Wanne special stage, measuring 12.17 kilometers, is driven only during the day and runs twice. This stage largely takes place in the territory of Trois-Ponts and enters Stavelot just before the finish. Various strategic viewing locations can be reached via the village of Wanne
In total, Saturday, November 30th, will account for about two-thirds of the entire rally. This makes the opening day crucial for securing victory and contending for the title across all categories!
