Squadra corse Angelo Caffi wins in class at HRS Classic Daytona 24 with La Macchia

An incredible result for Squadra Corse Angelo Caffi, Ralph La Macchia in a 2010 Panoz DP02 finished   the HRS Classic Daytona 24 with a category win (Group E LMP prototypes) and a second place overall.

The US driver with Italian origins clinched a very strong result also thanks to the team’s commitment and hard work. “The team was second place when we had an unfortunate spin at 11:15pm. This set us back, but we were able to regain our position to finish second place and first in class. This feat was achieved with the exceptional driving of my fellow drivers, Mr. James French and Mr. Bart Wolf, plus the talent of Nathaniel Wolf as crew chief, and Larry Wiltzius and Jackson Krueger as our mechanics. I am honored to drive with such a committed team, and together we took joy in a podium, carrying the United States flag for Squadra Corse Angelo Caffi, along with our loyal supporters”, said an enthusiastic La Macchia.

This result gave an important record to the club chaired by Benedetta Marelli Caffi: for the first time an Italian team based in Brescia conquered a podium in the American endurance race.

“We are very grateful that Ralph La Macchia reached this amazing result at Daytona with an incredible passion and commitment from his entire team. We had planned together some aspects of the intense race weekend but for sure they did the driving that took them on the podium“, told former F1 driver Alex Caffi.
