Kristoffersson wins home race to extend world championship lead
Johan Kristoffersson (S) claimed his third win of the season for PSRX Volkswagen Team Sweden at round seven of the FIA World Rallycross in Höljes (S). In front of more than 45,000 passionate fans, the Swede in the Polo GTI Supercar dominated proceedings, seemingly at will. Kristoffersson had already triumphed in qualifying and the semi-final, and victory never looked in danger in the final. The impressive home win also means that the 28-year-old has extended his lead in the world championship. Now with 181 points to his name, he leads team-mate Petter Solberg (N/150), who failed to qualify for the final in Sweden, by 31 points. PSRX Volkswagen continues to lead the Team competition with 331 points, followed by the Peugeot Hansen team (246).
Johan Kristoffersson said: “Saturday was a very good day. We were out in front at the end of the day, but I was fully focussed on the final day. After all, that is what it is all about. As always, the car was perfect. I have to thank everyone in the team. Not only those here on site, but everyone who works so hard for us at Volkswagen Motorsport.”

Marklund wins in Höljes, second place for Hedström
Anton Marklund (S) has added another win to his tally in the FIA European Rallycross Championship. The Swede won at the wheel of a Volkswagen Polo in front of his home crowd in Höljes. He took the chequered flag in the final ahead of fellow Volkswagen driver and compatriot Peter Hedström (S). Third place went to René Münnich (D). In total, three Volkswagen Polos made it into the ERX final in Höljes. Marklund and Hedström were joined in the final showdown by Alexander Hvaal (N).
FIA Formula 3 European Championship
Norris and Daruvala win highlight of the season in Nuremberg
Lando Norris (GB) and Jehan Daruvala (IND) were both victorious at the fifth race weekend of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship at the Norisring (D). Norris won race two on Sunday morning at the high-speed circuit in Nuremberg, coming home ahead of his compatriot Jake Hughes (GB/Mercedes-Benz) and Maximilian Günther (D/Mercedes-Benz). Daruvala finished fourth in race two, but upped his game in the final race on Sunday afternoon to take victory in his Dallara F317. The runner-up spot was taken by Günther, with Norris claiming another podium in third place. The Brit climbed from fourth to third in the overall standings on the back of his successful weekend. The championship leader is Günther (236), followed by Joel Eriksson (S/202) and Norris (198).
TCR Asia
Second place for Moran in Bangsaen
Diego Moran (EC) claimed a spot on the podium at the fourth race weekend of the TCR Asia in Bangsaen (T). The Ecuadorian, at the wheel of a Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR, finished runner-up in race two behind Tin Sritrai (TH/Honda), who won both races this weekend. Thailand’s Nattanid Leewattanavaragul (T) was third behind Moran. Moran is now third in the overall standings with 99 points, behind WS Lai (MAL/Honda/113) and Sritrai (109).
GTI Challenge South Africa
Joy in the Busi family
Marco Busi (ZA) won both races at the sixth race weekend of the GTI Challenge South Africa in Killarney (ZA). He was followed over the finish line on both occasions by his brother Dario (ZA). Dario actually took the chequered flag as the race winner in race two, but was handed a time penalty for an overly aggressive manoeuvre on his brother. This saw him drop back into second place in the final classification. Third place in the opening race went to Dillion Joulbert (ZA), while Jarred Simpson (ZA) finished third in race two.
