This Bank Holiday weekend (27-29 August) the Honda Racing team is targeting home round glory as the MCE British Superbike Championship heads to Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire for the eighth round of the championship.
Dan Linfoot, Jenny Tinmouth and Jason O’Halloran head into the weekend confident after a successful test at the Lincolnshire circuit aboard their Honda CBR1000RR Fireblades, in preparation for the ‘Party in the Park’ weekend.
The O’Show enters the eighth round with a race win under his belt and a string of podium finishes, which sees him third overall in the championship and edging away from the drop zone for the top-six.
Team-mate Linfoot arrives eager to get back to his podium finishing ways after securing four podium finishes already this year. Although still very much in the mix, the Yorkshireman has suffered mixed results of late, but is confident.
Honda’s Tinmouth is looking forward to getting back aboard her Fireblade. The first lady of BSB unfortunately missed out at the previous round at Brands Hatch after a crash in the morning’s warm up left substantial damage to the machine, which couldn’t be repaired in time for the race. Tinmouth is raring to go at Cadwell after enjoying the test and posting her fastest time at the track.
The 3.508km Lincolnshire circuit is just 10km away from the Honda Racing workshop and is a popular track with riders and also race fans, with the ‘Mountain’ being one of the most popular viewing points, where bikes frequently get ‘air’.

I’m looking forward to, but I’m also a little apprehensive about the weekend, I know I need to do well, but I can’t risk anything going wrong or a DNF as I’ll get overtaken in the points. At the moment I’m sitting fifth overall, two points away from fourth place and there’s ten points separating me from sixth place, so it’s not a great scenario to be in as I need to be fast but I can’t risk anything. Cadwell has always been a bit of an Achilles heel for me with results, but after our test there a few weeks ago I left feeling really good and confident. At the test I was the quickest I have ever been there, I felt good and so did the CBR, so I am confident I can walk away with my best result there this weekend. It would be nice to have a good weekend and put Brands Hatch behind us a little, the results from there are not why we go racing. We had a good positive Friday and then it started to go downhill a little after that, and after two crashes it knocks you a little and then I just didn’t have the same feeling with the Fireblade as I had before. But it’s onwards and upwards now going to Cadwell, I have some work to do in the Mountain section as it’s not my strongest part, but we’re halfway there and just need to continue progressing. A big shout out to my team, I created some work at Brands for them and they are working their socks off to get everything right for me, so I hope it comes together and we can grab a few podiums this weekend.
Dan Linfoot / #4
I can’t wait to get out on the Fireblade at Cadwell Park and put the last few rounds behind me. I was really disappointed not being able to race at Brands, but the damage to the bike after the crash was too much for the guys to be able to fix in time. However, this weekend is a new weekend and I am confident going to Cadwell Park. The test a few weeks ago really boosted my confidence at the circuit and it’s now important for me to push on and finish both races in and around the top-20. Cadwell is a great circuit and lots of fun to ride, so I’m looking forward to getting out there and seeing all the fans over the Bank Holiday.
Jenny Tinmouth / #20
I am really looking forward to my home race, as Cadwell Park is the closest one to my home in the UK, it’s also the team’s home round, so it’s special on two counts. It’s a circuit I really enjoy riding at and I missed last year due to my injuries so I am ready to get back out there this weekend. The test there a few weeks ago was really positive and I set the fastest lap I have ever done around Cadwell – it’s not the easiest place to go fast straight off, you have to get into it. I’m feeling really confident at the moment and we just have to keep the momentum going now. I’m third in the championship but we can’t get complacent about this and need to score some more podium points and make sure we’re in the Showdown. It’s so close now with everyone, so we need to make sure we’re strong this weekend.
Jason O’Halloran / #22
Well, we have Cadwell Park coming up this weekend, which is a real unique circuit compared to the others in the BSB championship, it is also on our doorstep so is a special round for Honda Racing. Following our test there two weeks ago Dan, Jenny and Jason are all positive of what their potential this weekend could bring to them. I believe that we have turned a real corner and are making good progress with the Fireblade and also the riders. For Dan and Jason it’s important they continue to battle at the front and gain podium credits, they know that the next few rounds are crucial to securing their places in the Showdown, so they know what they have to do. I’m looking forward to seeing how Jenny has progressed with her training and fitness since Brands Hatch and seeing it transfer to the track, she impressed us at the test so I’m hoping for a good result and two race finishes this weekend. All in all we’re fired up and ready for our home round and I’m looking forward to seeing all the fans there over the Bank Holiday weekend.
