Cooper Tire Back On Board with Arie Luyendyk Jr. in 2016

5 april 2016

(Mooresville, NC – April 5th, 2016)  Cooper Tire continues its support of Arie Luyendyk Jr. and renews its involvement with Arie Luyendyk Racing in TORC: The Off-Road Championship for 2016. Flying the recognizable blue, orange and white GUNK paint scheme, Luyendyk will also be representing Cooper in a bid for the 2016 PRO 2 Championship.

“So much of what we are able to accomplish as a team is surrounded by how well the tires perform,” said Luyendyk. “Cooper has been such as amazing partner because we can always rely on the durability and performance of the tire, which allows us to concentrate on other aspects of the truck. The abuse we put these tires through by landing hard on the sidewalls and handling 900hp wheel spin is unimaginable; yet time and time again they are proven to be the best.”

The 2016 season will mark an important year for Luyendyk as he debuts a new truck, previously driven by Rob MacCachren. “The new truck for this year is quite a bit different than the old truck,” added Luyendyk, “and I’m excited to see how I will adapt. It’s time to start winning races and I’m happy I have support from the best tire in the sport to get me to the top. Nothing is going to come easy but purchasing a proven truck is the first step.”

“The Cooper Discoverer line has been Arie Jr’s tire of choice since his crossover from open wheel racing,” said Chris Pantani, Cooper’s Director of Motorsports. “Arie is a class act both on and off the racetrack and represents the core values of Cooper, and we are proud to associate our brand with him.”

Arie Luyendyk Racing will be teaming up with Cam Reimers in the Pro Lite class, as they did in 2015. “It’s great to see Cam’s program switching to Cooper,” continued Luyendyk. “Having both of us under one tent with the same tire manufacturer will be helpful. I’m confident that having Cam on Cooper tires will raise his game and give him a competitive edge. We are excited to get 2016 started.”.
