It’s one of the Spa Rally’s good habits. In addition to the final round of the Kroon-Oil Belgian Rally Championship, the DG Sport event welcomes the regularity stalwarts to a VHRS annexe that is not lacking in texture, the Yokohama Spa Rally Classic
This VHRS event will be spread over two days, Bernard Herman, in the name of the organisers explained. Two loops of four special stages will be held on the Saturday, and a third loop taking in four special stages on the Sunday. In other words, a total of 12 special stages, for 130 kilometres in RT. And with the return of some of the classics of the Spa region, the crews will be able to take full advantage of this. Worth noting that the cars will return to the centre of Spa on five occasions
With some forty teams entered, the VHRS annex of the Spa Rally 2022, officially named Yokohama Spa Rally Classic, promises to be a full-blown confrontation between regularity experts. And it would be hard to name a logical favourite among the top duos such as Schoonbroodt-Gehlen (Ford Escort), Monseur-Hanquet (BMW 318i), Louys-Lejeune (MG B GT V8), De Munck-Vermant (Lada VFTS), Herman-Collard (VW Golf), Ambrosini-Thirionet (Audi 80), Destrée-Van Rijckevorsel (Volvo Amazon), Deklerck-Defreyne (Mercedes 450 SLC), Gitsels-Gitsels (Porsche 911 SC RS), Neutelers-Hardenne (Saab 99 EMS), Guilmain-Remion (Porsche 924 S), Simon-Chaballe (Porsche 924), Dufrasne-Dogne (BMW 323i), etc. Mind your backs
