The France-based team will enter a Ginetta G55 GT4 with pairing of Pierre-André Nicolas and Chris Vernet sharing the driving duties at Nogaro, which kicks off the 2019 season of the Race Ready-organized series in cooperation with SRO Motorsports Group.
ABM Grand Prix, a well-seasoned team from the French region of Aquitaine, will join the field for the GT4 South European Series’ curtain-raiser event. The event will be a first taste of the series for ABM Grand Prix and its plans are a full-season entry.
ABM Grand Prix will field a Ginetta G55 GT4 with the French duo of Pierre-André Nicolas and Chris Vernet at the wheel. Nicolas was crowned Champion in the Caterham Roadsport and ran GT4 machinery in the past such as the Porsche Cayman or the Ginetta G55 itself. On the other hand, Vernet is a driver with single-seater experience who now makes the switch to GT racing.
Alexandre Bidou, ABM Grand Prix Team Manager, said “ABM Grand Prix is very happy to join GT4 South European Series field in Nogaro. We see with interest the development of this championship to expand our racing efforts. We’ve always said that we would like to take part in further races later in the season. ABM Grand Prix is able to offer support and resources to give any driver a unique experience and competitive car right from start.”
Diogo Ferrão, promoter and organiser of the GT4 South European Series, added “it is such an amazing new to have ABM Grand Prix joining our family in Nogaro. We are delighted to welcome ABM Grand Prix to the GT4 South European Series and we are convinced that, taking into account how competitive the Ginetta-built GT4 racer is and with two young drivers such as Nicolas and Vernet driving the car, they will be able to emerge as strong contenders.”
The series promoted by Race Ready in partnership with SRO Motorsports Group will kick off at Nogaro, in the Coupe de Pâques, at April 19th-22nd, and will visit four other circuits – at Circuito del Jarama, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Autódromo Internacional do Algarve and Circuito do Estoril. In addition, a “Special Cup” will be held at the Vila Real street circuit.
The GT4 South European Series’ races will be TV broadcasted by Porto Canal (Portugal) and Teledeporte (Spain) and, additionally, on its Youtube Channel for the rest of the world.
