Henrique Chaves carried on his season preparation with a two-day test at the Circuit de Barcelona – Catalunya, continuing his adaptation to the McLaren 720S GT3 car and to Teo Martín Motorsport.

On his year’s debut in the competitive and selective GT world, the International GT Open pre-season preparation is really important, and this week Chaves had his second pre-season test session.

With so many factors unknown to him, the main focus of the testing days at Barcelona was Chave’s adaptation to the new car and the Spanish outfit. “Once again, my main goal was to understand the car and to familiarise myself with the team and, for that, track time is at premium. Every time I get in the McLaren 720S GT3 I understand it better and I feel more and more comfortable with Teo Martín Motorsport. Testing has always some issues. It’s normal. It’s when we try different solutions, but I feel more comfortable than ever to this new environment”, said Henrique Chaves.

The performance of the twenty-two-year-old driver evolved also, which leaves him confident for the beginning of the upcoming season. “I’m getting more comfortable in the McLaren 720S GT3 and that allows me to explore better its full potential. I feel more prepared for the beginning of the season, and I’m looking forward to it”, Henrique Chaves stated.

2019 International GT Open season kicks off on April 27 and 28 at Paul Ricard. The championship accounts will consist of six further rounds to be held at Hockenheim, Spa-Francorchamps, Red Bull Ring, Silverstone, Barcelona and Monza
