24 april 2016

Treviso (Italy), April 24, 2016. Scuderia Villorba Corse scored the overall win and the Am first place on Saturday’s race-1 and clinched another Am podium on Sunday’s race-2 in the first round of the Competition102 GT4 European Series held in Monza on April 23-24. To the Italian team led by Raimondo Amadio this was the best and strong way to start their “Maserati Squadra Clienti” racing programme and their co-operation with the House of the Trident. Villorba Corse #90 Maserati Gran Turismo MC won race-1 with Luca Anselmi / Giorgio Sernagiotto, while the #77 car was scoring a win in class in the Am category with Alessandro Fogliani / Patrick Zamparini. Fogliani /Zamparini also finished third in class in the second race of the weekend. Still in the Am category, fourth and sixth in race-1 and race-2 respectively managed to finish the #50 Maserati of Polish drivers Piotr and Andri Chodzen.

Team Principal Amadio says: “Our double win on Saturday and the race-2 results represent a team achievement which crowns our long winter work. To Villorba Corse a great reward comes from being the first team to claim the first victory and to put the seal of Maserati in the return of such an important brand in the GT competitions, among other things at the debut of this new adventure together. Now we will have to keep on working hard to be competitive for next race at Pau”.
