BATINA RACING ADDS NEW TOYOTA GR SUPRA FOR THE REMAINING OF THE SEASON

Batina Racing is gearing up for the rest of the Iberian Supercars, Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade and Supercars Jarama RACE season with a fresh set of wheels. The Portuguese team is swapping out their BMW M4 GT4 (F82) for a brand-new Toyota Supra GR GT4 EVO.

The Aveiro-based outfit made their debut in the Supercars Endurance series last season, achieving some very impressive results, with the highlight being a victory in the second race of last year’s Estoril season-final with the regular line-up Orlando Batina and Sérgio Azevedo.

Seeking fresh opportunities, Batina Racing made the strategic decision to invest in a brand-new Toyota Supra GT4 EVO, replacing their Munich-built car.

“It was becoming clear that our car no longer had the performance to match the newer machines, putting us at a disadvantage against our competitors. We analysed our options and concluded that the Toyota was the best – it’s extremely competitive, has less expensive maintenance, and was immediately available. We should have the car ready in time for Valencia, so that was our choice”, said Orlando Batina.

The team is currently searching for a driver to join Orlando Batina for the Valencia round, held at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo, as Sérgio Azevedo, due to professional commitments, will not be able to attend this round of the Iberian Supercars and Supercars Jarama RACE.

“Everything will be new for the team, even the circuit, but these are normal situations in racing. We’ll work as hard as we can to learn as much as possible about the Toyota and adapt to its demands, both drivers and technical team alike. Sérgio won’t be able to be in Valencia, so we’re looking for someone to take his place in this event. We’re in contact with several drivers and hope to announce who it will be soon”, concluded the Batina Racing Team Principal.

The Batina Racing BMW M4 GT4 (F82) is now available for purchase and presents a strong contender for the GTC division in 2025, a category specifically for GT4 cars from the previous generations.

The next Iberian Supercars event, the third of the season, will take place on September 28th and 29th at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo, which is also the third round of the Supercars Jarama RACE.
