Monza (Italy), July 11, 2021. 1 Aim Villorba Corse reaches eighth place with a strong comeback and returns to top-10 in the 4 Hours of Monza, fourth round of the European Le Mans Series held over last weekend and home race for the Italian team. In the “Temple of Speed” it was a clear race and convincing performance both on track as well as in the pits for the team led by Raimondo Amadio. The Ligier JS P320-Nissan of racing drivers Alessandro Bressan, Andreas Laskaratos and Damiano Fioravanti made an excellent race keeping a good pace right from the first laps, confirming the team’s effective work in setting up the LMP3 prototype. Started from fourteenth on the grid, Bressan gained several positions already in the first laps, closing the top 5 zone. Then Laskaratos kept his pace high and Fioravanti completed the job finishing eighth.
Raimondo Amadio, Team Principal, said: “Overall we are satisfied with the recovery and the pace shown in the race. Unfortunately the qualifying didn’t help us and in such a competitive championship starting from back in the grid is very penalizing. More than this we could not have done today. The performance was consistent, the team worked very well. The strategy rewarded us and during the race we got back six positions. We came back from two unfortunate races where we really did few kilometres, here we finally got to the finish line and collected points. The next round in Spa, after the summer break, will be challenging, but we will get there with greater confidence”.
