Vicenza / Treviso (Italy), June 21, 2021. Successful weekend with important points and most of all more progress for Trivellato Racing by Villorba Corse at Zandvoort. The Dutch circuit hosted the third round of the 2021 GT4 European Series where the Italian team took action with its two Mercedes-AMG GT4 and four young drivers getting its best results of the season, especially with British GT4 champion Jamie Caroline and his Swiss teammate Jean Luc D’Auria on the #70 car. On track with 38 cars, Trivellato’s crew was protagonist in both races, always pushing hard and also keeping a solid pace. Their performances and Caroline’s brilliant overtakings in the second part of race 1 brought to gain many positions, finishing ninth overall and seventh in class (Silver Cup).
Race 2 was even more successful for Caroline / D’Auria that finished in eighth position overall and fifth in Silver Cup. A Top 5 on such a demanding track is a clear sign of the increasing feeling with the car and at the same time of the efficient work the team led by Raimondo Amadio made on the car. Harder was the weekend of Francesco Guerra and Jody Vullo on the #90 car. The all-Italian crew did well being solid and finishing very close to scoring some points despite they suffered some small engine issues that did not allow them to be at their best throughout the event.
Team principal Amadio says after Zandvoort: “Increasing progress, we had our car in Top 10 twice, but most of all we had a good race and pace on one of the most difficult tracks on the championship. We are very pleased with the work done on car #70 and, never the less, on car #90 we defended ourselves. Next event is Spa. We can confirm that such a demanding championship needs a period of focused training, we are doing it with a certain logic and development, the important point is to continue this way in order to get some important results by the end of this season”.
