More than 10 cars so far for Jarama

We are still one month away from the second GT4 South European Series’ round, that will take place at Circuit del Jarama, but there are already eleven confirmed entries for the opening round of the series’ “Spanish Tour”.

The inaugural season of the competition promoted by Race Ready with the SRO Motorsport Group kicked off last April, at Nogaro, with the traditional Coupe de Pâques, and it gathered a a strong nine-car field.

The first race momentum is continuing to build at the circuit situated nearby Madrid with eleven confirmed entries spread by the three class.

In the Pro-Am class, the Veloso Motorsport’s Mercedes-AMG GT4 – Miguel Cristóvão / Francisco Abreu – will have, at least, the opposition from one brand new Aston Martin Vantage GT4 from Virage Racing and the ABM Grand Prix’s Ginetta G55 GT4 that will be shared by César Machado and Mariano Pires.

The Bronze-ranked Am class will also have a stronger field with the arrival of the Deyscom Sport’s Ginetta G55 GT4, which will have Alex Arbesu at the wheel. The Spanish outfit will have tough opposition from the Virage Racing second Aston Martin Vantage GT4, which will be driven by C. O. Jones and a second driver to be announced.

The GTC class, dedicated to the GT4 cars that lost homologation, shows a tremendous increase in number for the GT4 South European Series’ round of Jarama with five guest entries joining the season favourites Tockwith Motorsport’s Ginetta G50 GT4 of Marmaduke Hall and Edward Moore.

Ginetta will be well represented with the E2P Racing entering two G50 GT4s and Broberg Racing and Plemar Sport planning to run one each. 2TYM Racing will be making the difference in the pack with an exotic KTM X-Bow Super Light for Miguel Fernandez Yuste and José Martinez Bueno.

With the entry applications still open, the GT4 South European Series joined up so far drivers from five different nationalities, teams from four countries, four different car manufacturers and five different car models, showing an interesting diversity.

Diogo Ferrão, promoter and organizer of the GT4 South European Series, the eleven cars already entered to the Jarama round show the series is getting stronger. However, the organisation is not losing the focus and is determined to increase even more the entry numbers: “We started in a positive way at Nogaro, with nine cars, but our goal is to increase that number. The first round showed and presented our competition and the interest in it increased. At this stage we have eleven cars for the Jarama round, which is already a good number, but we are not pleased yet. There is interest from teams of different nationalities and we are focused to assure that they will be with us in the event that will kick off our ‘Spanish Tour’. We are also confident that we will have at Madrid some of the French teams that were with us at Nogaro. We believe that we will have a good grid in number and quality at Jarama”.

The series promoted by Race Ready in partnership with SRO Motorsports Group kicked off at Nogaro, in the Coupe de Pâques, Round 2 will take place at Circuito del Jarama on June 15-16 also visiting later this year the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve and the Circuito do Estoril. In addition, a “Special Cup” will be held at the Vila Real street circuit.

The GT4 South European Series’ races will be TV broadcasted by Porto Canal (Portugal) and Teledeporte (Spain) and, additionally, on its social media for the rest of the world.
