E2P set for GT4 South European Series debut with two Ginettas G50 at Jarama

The Spain-based team will enter two Ginetta G50 cars for multi-time GT race winners Kosta Kanaroglou and Javier Escobar, who will make their debut in the Race Ready-organized championship

E2P will join the field of the GT4 South European Series for the second round of the series organized by Race Ready in cooperation with SRO Motorsport Group, which will take place at Jarama next month. The Spanish outfit led by Javier Morcillo will enter two Ginetta G50 cars, which will fight for top honors in the GTC class, for its home round in Madrid. Seasoned racing drivers Kosta Kanaroglou and Javier Escobar will be at the wheel of both E2P-run G50 cars.

E2P, previously known as Escuela de Pilotos Emilio de Villota, was formed in 1980 and contested different forms of motorsport including GT, Sports Cars, touring cars and single-seaters. Besides, the team won 22 national titles in the period and both Greece’s Kanaroglou and Spain’s Escobar have played a key role on the road to success.

Javier Morcillo, Team Manager of E2P, explains: “We are delighted to join the GT4 South European Series for our home round at Jarama. We really expect to run more races later this year ahead of a full-season programme next year. We have two highly experienced drivers with the Ginetta-built machinery on this circuit. Kosta Kanaroglou and Javier Escobar will enjoy the experience and their goal is to produce a strong performance.”

Diogo Ferrão, promoter and organizer of the GT4 South European Series, underlines: “It’s such a pleasure to have E2P joining the GT4 South European Series for our Round 2 in Madrid. The E2P name is synonymous with GT racing in Spain and they have notched up countless titles and race wins with their Ginetta G50 cars, which will be strong contenders once again. We are looking forward to a successful second round of the championship in the frame of the mammoth Jarama Classic event.”

The series promoted by Race Ready in partnership with SRO Motorsports Group kicked off at Nogaro, in the Coupe de Pâques. Round 2 will take place at Circuito del Jarama on June 15-16 also visiting later this year the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve and the Circuito do Estoril. In addition, a “Special Cup” will be held at the Vila Real street circuit.

The GT4 South European Series’ races will be TV broadcasted by Porto Canal (Portugal) and Teledeporte (Spain) and, additionally, on its Youtube Channel for the rest of the world.
