MOORESVILLE, NC – (June 28, 2016) Premium synthetic lubricant and performance chemical manufacturer, Royal Purple®, has announced its entry into the 2016 Stadium Super Trucks event in Townsville, Australia. Arie Luyendyk Jr. will pilot the #30 Royal Purple truck in the series’ inaugural visit to North Queensland as part of what has been billed the Biggest and Best Townsville 400.
Luyendyk looks to continue running up front in Townsville. “I’m very happy to be driving the Royal Purple truck and competing in my first SST race down under,” said the 2015 X Games bronze medalist. “Looking at the other races online, I’ve been jealous of my fellow competitors. Finally, I’ll have the chance to experience the great Australian crowds and incredible support SST receives.”
The Royal Purple truck has been piloted by a team of top drivers in 2016. “We are so excited to have Arie representing Royal Purple in the upcoming Stadium Super Trucks race,” said Royal Purple Vice President of Marketing, Debby Neubauer. “He is an exceptional driver and we are looking forward to cheering him on and seeing him outperform.”
In addition to the Super Trucks partnership, Royal Purple also supports Luyendyk’s TORC: The Off-Road Championship program by providing oil for the 900-hp GUNK PRO 2. Luyendyk expressed his appreciation for the continued support. “I would like to thank Royal Purple for the opportunity to represent them in Townsville,” he said. “Hopefully we can repeat the success we had in Detroit and get Royal Purple a podium result.”
